This book provides an introductory overview of electronic media and the systems involved such as management information system and electronic mail message systems. After the introductory overview, focus shifts to radio, radio-news, radio-commentary and other associated features. An attempt has been made to create of comprehensive understanding of the inherent powers of news media in modern day society. A comparative analysis has been made as far as news-writing and news-editing are done for radio-news and television news. Also, the methodology followed for understanding script writing is discussed in detail, with special reference to television documentaries and commentaries. The process of evolution of satellite television in India and its continuous growth and development has been discussed. Speical focus lies on the respective roles of cameraman, editors and producers while undertaking the task of film making in its totality. The book is user-friendly and tries to lead its readers into the issues which this field to study is correcting analysing.

Ved Prakash Gandhi Ved Prakash Gandhi is a postgraduate of the M.S. University of Baroda, having an M.Phil in Mass Communication from the Jamia Millia Islamia Mass Communications Centre. He has worked with the Search Light, the National Herald, the Tribune and Midday, as Sub-editor, correspondent and Special correspondent. He has specialised in development journalism and two of his articles published in leading dailies have been awarded by regional associations of trade and commerce.
