The caste discrimination in Indian society is generally portrayed by western scholars as if it is the unique feature of Indian society. But, this is not so. This book is an attempt to compare it with race discrimination in the United States. The author concludes that the advances made by dalits in India have been much greater than those made by blacks in the United States.
