Muslim personal law has been time and again challenged even in the Muslim countries. Recently division bench of the Bangladesh High Court ruled that utterance of the word Talaq or divorce three times in one sitting by an estranged Muslim husband would not constitute a valid and legally, permissible divorce. Similar has been the experience with regard to inheritance, guardianship, family rights and other marital aspects.

Aim of this book is to present before the reader the changing position of law with regard to Muslim women in proper perspective.
